Cincinnati, Hamilton County students learn to work together

Students from Life Skills Centers in Cincinnati and Hamilton County have been gathering at the African-American Cultural Research Center (on the campus of the University of Cincinnati) every Monday for the past several months.

"Pathways to Success," headed by Bluzette Marshall, is a program that allots students the opportunity to participate in structured, team-oriented activities after the school day has concluded.

Each Monday afternoon provided a different challenge for the Life Skills students.

From learning proper dining etiquette, to overcoming fears of public speaking, each component of the "Pathways" curriculum focused on improving the social skills of the program's participants.

This evolutional journey culminated in a celebration of the group's accomplishments. Friends, family, and school personnel gathered on UC's campus to enjoy a shared meal, and, more importantly, a shared journey.
